When you have a little one with diabetes, it may be hard to find good resources for diabetes education. The Y, in partnership with IU Health, can help.

 
We're dedicated to providing diabetes education.

There are 460,000 diabetics in Indiana, and 62,000 are children between the ages of 10 and 17. IU Health and the YMCA are dedicated to providing education to help manage and combat diabetes in the community.

Quality, effective diabetes care for children shouldn’t be hard to find. Keeping kids happy and healthy isn’t always easy, but we want to help you change that.

Through our partnership, IU Health and the Lafayette Family YMCA provide care and resources necessary for managing diabetes, learning about its risks, and taking steps toward prevention.

Diabetes Management Program

IU Health has developed a diabetes management program. This resource will focus on ways to educate the Lafayette, Indiana community about diabetes, its risks, and management and care.

Fit for Life

IU Health and the YMCA work together to promote Fit for Life, a health and wellness program designed to address and prevent childhood obesity. Kids ages 5-12 are invited to participate in activities that teach them how to enjoy a healthy lifestyle in all aspects of their day.
