Drone Flight #44

The summer is flying by! Only four more months until the New YMCA is complete! In this week’s drone footage you will see the progress in the childcare center with flooring going in, and the fun colors making the center bright and inviting. Every day Junior Achievement looks more and more like a town, and we are very excited for JA BizTown and Finance Park to be offered right here in Greater Lafayette and surrounding areas! You will also see the much anticipated slide being installed in the IU Health Aquatics Center! The slide will be an exciting feature to aquatics fun at the Y! Make sure to check back in next week to see all the awesome things happening at the New Y as we head down the final stretch!

Check out this weeks Drone Footage! You will see the YMCA exterior signage going up with some neat aerial shots of the New YMCA.

Inside, the drone gets some neat shots of the IU Health Aquatics Center, Junior Achievement, and the gymnasium where they are putting up basketball goals. You will also see where we are preparing to install the Y Daycare playground complete with hotwheels and tricycle track!

We are very excited and grateful everyday for everyone who has put in a lot of time, treasures, and talents to make the New Y possible for our awesome community! The New Lafayette Family YMCA will allow us to serve more and provide more programs to our community. Your investment to the New YMCA through the Community Campaign will help guarantee more recreational and learning opportunities for our youth, more wellness programs and opportunities for all ages, and more social and community growth. Time is flying by! Check out this awesome footage of all of the amazing progress at the New YMCA!

You will see the columns going in for the canopy and footers going in for the slide that will be installed soon! Inside cabinetry is going in in childcare and Junior Achievement, the Sauna in the IU Aquatics Center has been installed, and the basketball goals are going up! Paint crews are in working hard and bringing the building to life! There is so much happening at the Y, and we cannot wait to have our grand opening for the community! Drone Flight #41

We hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day with family and friends! Check out week 56 progress on the New YMCA!

Every day that goes by we are excited, and the crews are making great strides. They are prepping the childcare center for flooring, and The Junior Achievement Biz Town and Finance Park is turning out neat as the town comes to life. Basketball goals have been installed in the gymnasium. The Sauna is being installed in the IU Health Aquatics Center as crews are prepping to install the slide in a couple of weeks! Everything is coming along as we make our countdown to the grand opening! Check back in next week for the latest walk throughs to see all the great progress being made!

Drone Flight #40

Splish Splash! The pool decks have been poured and it’s excitingly close to being ready for some fun! In this week’s walkthrough, you’ll see the IU Health Aquatic Center and the Junior Achievement BIZ Town and Finance Park really starting to come to life! It almost feels like home in there!

Thanks to the generous donations of NCHS, the YMCA Childcare Center is coming along and will be a shining star of the facility! We can’t wait to see all the kid’s tiny faces light up when they see what we’ve built for them! Next week, crews will continue to install windows and paint the walls as the finishing touches begin! Check back in next week for the exciting progress in the new Y facility!

Drone Flight #39

We are making progress! In this week’s walk through you will see crews working on finishing up the exterior and putting up stone at the entrances. As the ceiling grids go in, rooms are starting to take life, and as you move through the Multi-Generational room—you will see the double-sided fireplace being installed where we will have social seating for all to enjoy!

This week, they will be installing gymnasium equipment, and in the pool, they are preparing for the last concrete pours for the entire project. Check back in next week for exciting updates for the new YMCA!

The new Y is coming along as we dive into summer! In this walk through you can check out the progress being made and transition of new crews coming in! They continue to work on the pool and front entrance. Junior Achievement is moving along as the BizTown and Finance Park come to life with the facades. The cabinetry and welcome desk in the YMCA Childcare Center are being installed. The gymnasium will start to shape up next week as basketball hoops and divider curtains will be installed! Time continues to fly by as the excitement grows for the New Y! The Y is coming together and each room is starting to take on its own personality. Stone and sidewalks are taking place on the exterior as Got Brick finishes up getting the final walls in place. We appreciate Jake and his crew for all of their hard work! We are excited to meet the new crews coming in to start working on the next phase of the project! We hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend with their family and friends! Progress Progress Progress! Crews continue to work hard at the New YMCA site as stonework is being done at the entrances, ceiling and lights are going in, first coats of paint in the childcare center, and sidewalks are being poured! Every day we have new and exciting things happening at the site as we are five months away from a new facility!

Drone Flight #35

We are seven months away from our New YMCA! The exterior of the New YMCA is coming together as they finish up the brick and siding and start working on stone. It was an exciting day when the pool slide stairs got installed! They continue to work on installing the gutters and prepping the pools for final concrete pours. The locker rooms walls are almost complete and ceilings are starting to go in throughout the building! Things are really starting to take shape and we couldn’t be more excited! Thank you to all the crews for working hard and keeping us on schedule!

The sun is shining over the New YMCA! Once again a lot of progress is being made at the site. Since the weather has decided to cooperate crews are able to get outside and work on the exterior of the building putting up siding, signage, brick, and stone! Trees are starting to be planted and crews are prepping for sidewalks to be poured! The excitement continues…inside you will see crews continuing to work on getting the gutters in place for the pool, finishing up laying block for the locker rooms, drywalling, HVAC, paint and more!

Spring has arrived a month late but the New YMCA progress is still on track!! We have 7 months to go!! Check out the new footage of the locker rooms, pools, gymnasium and track! This facility will allow us to work together as five outstanding partners (YMCA, Franciscan Health, IU Health, Junior Achievement, and Ivy Tech) to lift and strengthen our community in ways that have never been done before!

Time is flying by as it has been one year since the groundbreaking for our new YMCA! Some days it seems surreal but thanks to all the wonderful Y volunteers, Intersection Connection Collaborations, Tecton Construction Management, Y Staff, Contractors, and workers this dream is becoming a reality! This week’s walkthrough highlights the great progress being made! Walls continue to go up on both levels and Group Fitness rooms are shaping up on the second level! The activity pool is being poured in phases, Junior Achievement facades are taking shape, and they continue to hang drywall in the Y Childcare Center. Things are really coming together at the New YMCA! Check out this awesome footage of the crews putting up siding, preparing for activity pool pour, painting, and putting up the walls for the Group Fitness Studios! The childcare area is getting drywall and HVAC is going in the JA area! Every day something new and exciting is happening and we appreciate all of the crews and Tecton Construction Management for making our dream a reality! There is a lot happening on week #43! In this walkthrough of the facility, you will see rooms are taking shape as walls, windows, and door frames go in. The childcare center is coming together quickly as the prep for drywall next week! The 2nd pool is being prepped to be poured and we are around eight months away from a new facility!! The weather is starting to warm up as we go into week 42 of the New Y! This week’s walkthrough you will see crews finishing up framing in the Childcare and JA areas, starting to put up drywall, continuing to build walls to form rooms, and paint crews moving into the Wellness area! It is so much fun to see all the progress being made and all the new changes we see on a daily basis, sometimes an hourly basis! Make sure to join us every week for updates.

The New Y has made huge strides over the past week! In this week’s walkthrough, you will see the track and gymnasium being painted and the childcare center is totally framed out! In the aquatics center, the lap pool and the hot tub have been poured! In the next week, they will start digging the activity pool! The Childwatch and Family Prime Time Rooms walls, door frames, and window frames are up and Franciscan Health is preparing to start framing out their 2nd level! It continues to be an exciting and busy time as we move into March and are very thankful to all those who have helped to make this possible! Even though the weather has been cold and snowy outside, the New Y is warm and sunny inside with everyone working hard and making a lot of progress! In this video, you get to see a snapshot of all of that progress being made!

The Childcare Center is being framed out, and walls continue to go up in the locker room, Primetime Family Center, and child watch area. The lap pool floor has been poured, and they are preparing to pour the walls this week! It is an absolutely amazing process and it is an exciting time for The Y and our community! The excitement continues! The lap pool has been dug and is being prepped to be poured, walls are going up in the childcare center and the locker room area, and the track has been poured. Things are moving along and our future is looking so bright! The crews continue to work hard despite the weather to make progress on the new site. It is another exciting week at the New YMCA site as they start to dig the pools! The crews are working hard inside as the cold weather hangs around. The childcare center and the aquatics center are starting to take shape, and the locker room floors have been poured! Even though we had a week of below zero temperatures, the crews were able to push forward and get some work done. In this site footage, you get to go to the second level Wellness Area where we will have state-of-the-art equipment to help our members achieve their wellness goals! You can also see crews painting beams in the aquatics area, prepping for slab pour in the locker room areas, and working on the entrance of the Y! Drone Flight #23

2018 is here and the New Y continues to go up! Check out this awesome drone footage and get a sneak peek of the progress taking place at the new YMCA and Franciscan Health Center! Even though the weather has been a bear the last few weeks – Tecton, Tonn and Blank, and all the other contractors continue to push along and make progress. In the footage, you will see Franciscan Health Center has steel frame up and the new YMCA has floors poured, siding up, and the aquatics center enclosed. The Y greatly appreciates all the hard work of Teccton and the many contractors that are working out in the elements to bring this awesome Y to the community!

The month of November has flown by and there is a lot happening at the new Y! The building is coming together quickly and this drone flight encapsulates it all. As you can see, our amazing crews are working hard on roofing, laying slabs, and prepping the second level for concrete and brick! Check out this amazing drone footage of the new Y! Construction is on schedule as they work on the second level, which will house the Y Childcare Center, Junior Achievement, and Franciscan Health! The crews are continuing to work hard to get the building enclosed for the winter. We’re so excited to watch this project come together!

The New YMCA construction continues to make great progress! All of the steel is about up for the YMCA facility along with Junior Achievement. Also, the footers have been poured for the Franciscan Health portion of the project! The crews continue to work hard to get the roof on and prepare to get the building sided as we move into the winter months! Everyday is an exciting day at the YMCA! Check out this awesome drone flight of the New Lafayette Family YMCA project! You can see that the steel framing is coming along as they complete the Junior Achievement and YMCA Childcare areas. The crews are also working hard on getting the 1st round of asphalt down in the parking lot! The weather has been iffy, but the crews continue to work hard to get the building enclosed for the winter!

This weeks drone flight showcases the crews preparing the gymnasium for the first concrete slab pour of the project! Everyday is exciting at the Lafayette Family YMCA as the project moves forward!

Another great drone flight! The building is really starting to take shape, and the steel has begun to go up for the IU Health Aquatics Center! In this flight you can also see that the curbs have been laid and parking lot is starting to shape up as well! The crews continue to work hard on laying sewer and drainage lines, putting up block walls, prepping the parking lot, and getting the roof on as well as many other things! The walls, structure, and roof are about half up, and this week’s drone flight takes you inside the building through the main entrance! This gives you a closer look at the main lobby, gymnasium, locker rooms, multi-gen room, child watch, and prime time family center! The drone then pops back outside to capture a beautiful aerial view where they are working on the pool and will start to work on putting up the steel for the Junior Achievement and the Y Childcare Centers! We appreciate the hard work, dedication, and coordination of Tecton Construction, KJG, and all of the many talented crews out working on the project!

Check out this great drone footage of the awesome crews continuing to put up the interior walls and steel framing! In the next couple of months, you will see the roof going on and siding being put on. The YMCA staff can’t help but be excited to think about all the exciting programs and opportunities we will be able to offer to our outstanding community!

The steel is going up fast as they work on gymnasium and pool area walls! We have had beautiful weather as they continue to make progress on the new Y. In the coming weeks, they will continue to work on getting the structure up so they can work internally through the winter months. The first round of steel has been delivered!! This is the next big step in the project as the new YMCA will really start taking shape! The gym walls continue to go up, and they will start to work on preparing the pool area! Great progress is being made on the New YMCA site! The gym wall continues to climb and you can really start to visualize each room and the upper level! In the parking lot the storm drains are being put into place and the re-purposed gravel is being laid down to make the foundation. It is all starting to come together!

Walls are going up! It was an exciting week as the building is starting to take shape! There were a lot of different crews on the site working on getting storm drains in, moving and laying stone on parking lot foundation, and laying the cinder block walls for the gymnasium! Every week is something new and exciting, so check in next week to see the latest updates and live feeds!

It’s been an exciting week at the site! Crews were able to move full steam ahead and tried to make up for lost time caused by the rain. As you can see on the drone flight, the footers have been dug, and by the end of the week, concrete trucks were coming in like clockwork to pour the footers. It was an amazing site to be seen! As the work progresses, we are anxiously awaiting the steel to be delivered and walls starting to go up!
